Verdict

SituationalBuild it beside a Leech setter. Against a fresh enemy with no Leech it does little.

Sest.
Why this tier

Once the enemy is Leeched, Thornbloom's 110 ATK snowballs fast, with its ATK stage and Swift tied to that Leech, which is its S-tier case. A fresh or swapped-in enemy leaves it with nothing, so pair it with a Leech setter.

How to use Thornbloom

Thornbloom's ATK stage and Swift both equal the Leech on the current enemy, so every Leech Seed or Verdant Growth makes it faster and stronger at once. That is the reason to pick it: once Leech is up, 110 ATK makes it one of the hardest hitters in the game, and Leaf Storm heals your side 5% per stack while it swings.

Against a fresh enemy with no Leech it has no stages at all, so it opens slow. Flying and Ice hit it for double.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
