How the King of Blood engine works

Blood trades its own units for power. An Imp card is 13 fast bodies, a Cemetery raises a Skeleton when a unit beside it dies in battle, and the Pagoda sends the ghosts of dead troops back onto the field, invincible. A Demon Altar grows 0.1 stronger for good with every ally that dies. The Mangler makes the same trade on the board: each year it sacrifices one adjacent unit per level and keeps +2 damage for each. So the kingdom needs a steady supply of cheap bodies standing next to the things that feed on them, and it is weak against anything that kills a crowd with one area hit.

Cards that carry King of Blood

  • ManglerTower

Sacrifices one adjacent unit every year for +2 damage and +2 HP, and what it summons are Meat Trolls. It is the one Blood card that grows without anything dying in battle first.

  • SacrificeTome

Destroys a plot to level up the plots beside it. Next to a Mangler or the Pagoda, that is a level paid for with a plot you had finished with.

  • PagodaCastle

The base summons invincible Ghosts of troops that have died, so every Imp or Bomber lost early comes back as something that cannot be killed. Each level is x1.3 HP and attack.

Card stats per level

Playing a card onto its own plot again levels it up. Multipliers stack: a card at level 3 carries its level-up boost twice.
