9 Kings/Run Calendar
9 Kings Run Calendar
A single-player run lasts 33 years, and the same events land in the same years every time. Knowing that the first merchant comes in year 7 and the first Rainbow army in year 17 is what lets you save gold, keep a plot free or hold a card for the right moment. Pick a year to see what happens and how big the enemy army is by then.
King · Year 3 of 33
The Prophet
The Prophet predicts a special event in your future and you choose a blessing. Each blessing works on the plots it targets, and pays out in the year of the prophecy, so what you place on those plots before then decides what you get.

Every year, and after year 33
- Every year has a battle. The events above come on top of it, and the enemy army grows each year (the bars above). The first six years are softened, so the real climb starts in year 7, the same year as the first merchant.
- Gold: 9 a year. Merchants, rerolls and new plots after the construction pit all cost gold, and the merchants only come in years 7, 19 and 31.
- The Pit: throw a card into the pit instead of playing one and you skip that year's play in exchange for gold.
- Lives: 3 in single player, 5 in multiplayer.
- Endless mode: past year 33 the game calls every year Chaos, and the enemies keep growing stronger. The calendar repeats every 11 years: a war diplomat, a decree pick, a merchant and a peace diplomat, in that order. Year 99 is the game's true ending: you can still play on, but there are no new challenges or rewards after it.
- Quests change the calendar. Nowhereland has no merchants, decrees, blessings or diplomats at all, and Last Stand lasts a single year. See the Quest List.
