Clash of Critters/Basics
Clash of Critters — how it works
A quick reference for the systems that decide which Tatari you build and how you place them. Elemental system, evolution rarities, the Badge Dojo, and the Pinball Machine.
Elemental matchups

Every Tatari and most Zobos have one of five elements: Fire, Water, Grass, Rock, Lightning. When an attacker hits a target it counters, it deals 200% damage; against the element that counters it, 50%; against anything else, 100%.
The cycle: Lightning beats Water, Water beats Fire, Fire beats Grass, Grass beats Rock, Rock beats Lightning — and back around. During deployment the game flags each lane with a green or red thumb based on this.
In loose terms: Water leans on recovery and sustain, Fire on raw attack pressure, Grass on durability and max-HP effects, Rock on sturdy defensive roles, Lightning on speed and burst windows.
Don't build a single-element roster — you want a main team plus enough coverage in the other elements to avoid bad lanes in stages, Boss Challenge and the Dojo.
Evolution rarities
Each Tatari line moves up through coloured rarity tiers as it evolves. Two-form lines run Blue → Purple; the longer lines run Purple → Gold → Red → Rainbow.
Evolving needs the Tatari at a star threshold plus its evolution trial (a specific in-game task — see each Tatari's page). Higher rarities carry better stat grades and, at the top forms, element aura effects in some modes.
Badge Dojo
The Badge Dojo is a tower challenge run separately per element, each hosted by an element master. Clearing floors earns Tatari badges that buff every Tatari of that element — account-wide, not just one character.
Each element offers three badges: a Drop Badge (+10% to all stats of that element), an HP badge (+20% HP), and an ATK badge (+20% ATK).
Your total badge count sets a Trainer Title on your profile: Novice (0–4), Advanced (5–14), Elite (15–24), Master (25–34), Supreme (35).
Because badges lift a whole element, it's usually worth pushing the Dojo of the element your best team already uses before spreading investment around.
| Dojo floor | Unlock requirement (per element) |
|---|---|
| Dojo 1 | Own 7 Tatari of the element |
| Dojo 2 | 5 Gold-rarity evolutions of the element |
| Dojo 3 | 1 Red-rarity evolution |
| Dojo 4 | 3 Red-rarity evolutions |
| Dojo 5 | 6 Red-rarity evolutions |
| Dojo 6 | 1 Rainbow-rarity evolution |
| Dojo 7 | 3 Rainbow-rarity evolutions |
The Pinball Machine
The Pinball Machine is the core progression loop. You spend Pinballs to pull Tatari, candies, more Pinballs, and event currencies.
Candies are how you raise a Tatari's level; duplicate Tatari raise its star level. Pinballs come from Pinball Trees at Camp, clearing stages, events, and optional purchases.
Event rewards from the machine rotate with whatever event is live (energy drinks, fishing rods, fertiliser, cakes and so on), which is why several evolution trials ask you to collect a specific one of those.
