At a glance

Best.
Why this tier

Tubsteed is B because Back Kick only fires below half HP and heals on a kill, and waiting for that window makes it hard to rely on. Cyclodoge holds a Brawler slot more steadily.

How to use Tubsteed

Tubsteed wants to be hurt. Back Kick only works below 50% HP, hits 50% harder under 30%, and heals 20% if it finishes the enemy, so it is a comeback tool. 100 HP gives it room to drop that far. Getting to that window is risky, and it is only worth it if a partner can hold the enemy off. Cyclodoge is the steadier Brawler.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
