Season 18, The Name of the Rose, opened on 21 August 2026 and was patched to version 2.61.0 on 10 September. It brought the Sanguine Rosecrest relic, three new Tarot Oracle cards and a new Hope Tree. This guide covers the season's spending decisions in the order you'll meet them.
High Roller: the special offers
High Roller is a time-limited event aimed more at spenders than free-to-play players. If you are spending, these are the offers that pay back and the ones that don't.
- Relic shards deal: always worth it. It is a guaranteed relic copy for $20.
- New relic copy deal: pricier, but still worth it because it includes runes.
- Diamond deals: buy them if you are short on diamonds.
- Immortal tickets: buy them if you are short. They are the second-best value in the game.
- Opulence Decree (the Chronos skin): worth it for spenders, or if your Chronos is at 10 stars for PvP.
- Other Oracle Decree deals: skip them unless you are a whale catching up.
- Random-hero deal: don't gamble. Half the outcomes are heroes you won't use.
High Roller: runes and the diamond sale
Buy Chronos runes first if you focus on PvP and Lucifer runes first for PvE, then Hela's. Always buy the Epic runes and evolve them into Legendary.
In the diamond sale, a new account should max the Oracle Decree, the fastest way to a first Oracle shop copy. Invoker crystals are worth buying at 30. Skip the relic in the sale, which is built for PvP, and skip summon tickets and everything else unless you are rerolling accounts.
For the Big Reveal mini-game, open the middle tile first, then work out where the pieces sit along its row and column.

Sanguine Rosecrest: what it does
Sanguine Rosecrest is the season's first new relic. Its Eternal Bloom effect raises every ally's Max HP at the start of battle and cuts each hit a hero takes by a share of their Max HP. From 3 stars, White Rose Vow gives the lowest-HP ally a ward each round that blocks one active-skill hit, fires an Ultimate back at the attacker and heals part of the blocked damage.
Its value comes in steps, which is why the star advice below stops where it does.
| Stars | What it adds |
|---|---|
| 1 | After its skill: 100 Energy, and Reflect Rate and CRIT DMG +15% for every ally for 2 rounds |
| 2 | Team Max HP +200% at the start of battle; each hit taken is cut by 3% of the hero's Max HP |
| 3 | White Rose Vow, healing 50% of the blocked hit |
| 4 | The Reflect Rate and CRIT DMG bonus rises to +50% |
| 5 | White Rose Vow heals 100% of the blocked hit |
| 6 | Team Max HP +400%; hits cut by 6% of Max HP |
| 8 | Team Max HP +700%; hits cut by 10% of Max HP |
Sanguine Rosecrest: how far to star it
- Low spenders: get it to 2 stars. The +200% HP boost is most of its value for the cost.
- If you aren't going to 8 stars, stop at 2 or 3. Three adds White Rose Vow; six adds very little for what it costs.
- Whales: push it to 8 stars, where the HP boost is as big as Planar Gate's.
- Free-to-play: skip it and save your diamonds for Fate summons.
Which team runs it
Pair it with Doomsdayers, not Ethereals. Ethereals already have relics of their own.
It works best next to Trueancestor Ophelia. With her deployed, the team's Max HP boosts from relics turn into extra attack, and her Force passive scales this even higher in PvP. That turns a defensive relic into a damage one. For Abyss Crusade, running it with Chronos and Trueancestor Ophelia gives top damage against the Divine Paladin.

Relics to pair with it, and to keep away
Since Trueancestor Ophelia converts HP into attack, stack as many HP-boosting relics next to Sanguine Rosecrest as you can. Planar Gate is the best partner: put it in the middle position for big HP and damage gains with Doomsdayers. Frostclaw and Demonbane Whip each add 100% HP to every ally, and Svalin's Shield adds another 100% HP to Doomsdayers frontliners.
Keep Call of the Origin Sea away from it: its active-skill damage immunity doesn't stack with it and wastes the slot. Crimson Chalice is an attack boost, which doesn't fit a team built on HP scaling.

Relic shard picks
New players should take Pharaoh's Sarcophagus or Kusanagi from the shard chests, since both are part of the Chaotic 13 minimum setup. PvP-focused players should take Divine Scepter instead, which counters Lucifer.
Tarot Oracle: why the cards matter
Tarot card stats are the only stats that work in every mode, seasonal and non-seasonal alike. A placement that looks small on paper therefore follows the hero everywhere, which makes getting it right worth more than it first appears.
| Card or stat | Put it on |
|---|---|
| Quill of Usurpation | Chronos. Raises effect resistance and cancels the banish chance. |
| Effect accuracy | Crowd-control heroes without guaranteed CC, like Loki or Bahamut. |
| Key of Enlightenment | Mystifiers like Eve or Catherine. Turns cure rate into attack. |
| Heal rate | Venus, for more healing. |
| Dodge rate | Avengers like Isis, Albert or Narissa. |
| Pentacles | Crit-based Ethereals: Arcane Dorabella, Wukong, Venus. |
| +200% attack | Pledge heroes: Atropos, Hela, Cleopatra, Lucifer. |
| Lovers | Avengers heroes. +100% damage below 45% HP. |
| High Priestess | Heroes that cast repeatedly, like Babylon or Venus, for extra Ultimates. |
| Knights | Skill spammers like Pandora, Venus or Eve, for extra Ultimates. |
| Magician | Pandora in Lost City, or Venus and pledge heroes. |
| Devil | Pandora in Lost City, with Exorcism Cauldron or Planar Gate to keep her HP from being reduced. |
| Chariot | Babylon in PvP. More damage as her HP drops. |
| Temperance | Debuffers like Loki or Bahamut. Lowers enemy accuracy when they debuff. |
| +20% defense | Skip it. Defense is the least useful stat in the game. |
The new cards: Hierophant, Death and Hanged Man
Max Hierophant or Death, not Hanged Man.
Hierophant is the strongest of the three. It doubles Holy Shield stacks, and when an ally loses all their shields in one round, every enemy is stunned. Put it on a hero who hands out Holy Shields. Cleopatra's Mystic Sanctum gives the whole team a Holy Shield at the start of every round, which is exactly what the card doubles.
Death makes the bearer counter with their Ultimate when hit by an active attack, but only if they are faster than the attacker. That suits fast heroes, and Mystifiers with Asmodeus, whose runes slow enemies below your speed. It also fits Lysandra, Behemoth teams and Arcane Dorabella, whose Paralyze slows enemies.
Hanged Man is the weakest, so don't spend much on it. It lowers the enemy's bonus Max HP, which only helps burst teams (Mystifiers, Avengers, Valiantors) or line-ups facing Monarchs. It does nothing for Doomsdayers, Ethereals or Glorians.

Farming Tarot rewards
- Play the Tarot Labyrinth for its free Legendary selector, but don't rush the rank. The rank rewards are poor.
- Don't summon for the Devil card. It is free from the Tarot mini-game.
- Leave Tarot level 30 uncleared until you need it for Challenger's Journey points.
- Tarot Revelation runs in weeks 4 and 8 on servers older than 30 days. Progress carries over, and it costs diamonds.
Hope Tree: Position Blessings
Energy comes first almost everywhere on this season's tree. Take these sides.
| Blessing | Side | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Left | Energy. The cleansing option triggers after relics cycle, too late to stop a burst. |
| 2 | Left | Energy and max attack. The right side's accuracy isn't needed. |
| 3 | Left | Energy only. Skip the right side's fortitude and don't upgrade node 3 early. |
| 4 | Right | Level energy first, then come back for the PvP damage reduction. |
| 5 | Right | Level energy and damage boost together. Skip node 3. |
| X | Right for PvP, left for PvE | Right gives silence for PvP. Left gives crowd-control removal and boss damage for PvE. |
Why silence beats cleansing in PvP
Crowd-control cleansing only triggers after relics have fired, so enemy Ultimates still go off before it helps. A turn-1 silence stops those Ultimates completely. That timing is why Blessing X goes right for PvP and why Blessing 1 skips its cleansing side.
Hope Tree: what to skip, and the season tree
- Never take Grace of Allegiance. It affects only one hero and costs far too much energy.
- Put points into the Synergy Mark only after the core position nodes, energy and damage boosts are maxed.
- Use the free resets in week 1 to switch between the Dragon War nodes and the Guild Clash team-capacity nodes as each event comes up.
- If you are struggling in Chaotic Space or the Primeval Realm, take the outer nodes for Chaotic Space stats.

- Get the Demon Astrid skin from the skin shop. It makes Astrid far stronger, and the skin tokens are cheap.
