Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium is a turn-based tactical RPG — a hex grid, cover, facing, and a five-doll squad plus a borrowed support. It's comp-driven: individual power matters less than element synergy and investment level. This guide is built from the game's systems and community consensus, reworded. For where dolls rank see the Tier List; for squads see Best Teams; for weapons see the Weapon tier list.
Should you reroll?
Not hard. GFL2's standard banner carries Qiongjiu, Tololo and Sharkry — all meta — and you'll get them over time. The pity is favourable and the game is generous with the pull currency (Collapse Pieces).
If you target one limited unit, Springfield (the best healer) or Klukai (one of the strongest carries) have the biggest account-wide impact.
Redeem the codes first (Codes page) before judging your account.
Pick one element
Burn — the dominant team (Qiongjiu + Vector). Best at single-target and AoE both.
Hydro — the other top team (Springfield + Tololo). Sustain-heavy, trivialises frenzy bosses.
Corrosion — the best non-boss clearing team (Klukai + Mechty).
Freeze — Makiatto + Suomi are an excellent self-contained boss-killing pair even though full Freeze fell off.
Physical and Electric are the weak elements right now (both have support incoming). Don't build around them yet.
Whichever standard SSR you pull first — Qiongjiu or Tololo — decides your first team. Commit to one and invest deep.
Combat fundamentals
Cover halves incoming damage and blocks crits — keep your dolls in cover facing threats.
Attacking an enemy from the side or back ignores their cover and does more.
Stability Index is a second health bar — break it and the enemy takes a Stagger (big damage window, skipped turn). Some dolls specialise in Stability damage.
The Confectance Index / action-support system lets dolls trigger follow-up attacks off each other — positioning your squad so they cover each other's lines is most of GFL2's skill.
Phase (element) weakness and Weapon (Light/Medium/Heavy) weakness on the enemy both amplify your damage — check both before a fight.
Dupes and weapons
A doll's power is rated V0 (no dupes) to V6 (max). Most are functional at V0 but hit their rated tier with dupes — the Tier List assumes some investment.
Key breakpoints vary: Klukai loses her boss weakness at V3, Tololo needs V2 for three actions, Suomi needs V2 + sig for her offensive kit.
For free-to-play: a V0 meta doll beats a V6 off-meta one. Breadth first, then depth on your main team.
Weapons: most dolls do fine on a standard-banner weapon. Only a few limited units (Klukai, Springfield, Vector) really want their signature — see the Weapon tier list.
Early progression
Clear the campaign — it unlocks modes and pays out the bulk of your pull currency.
Do the weekly boss (Dubhe) — it gives free Sabrina dupes, so she's V6-able for free.
Run expansion drills for the doll-EX and gear.
Don't over-invest in your starter units (Groza, Nemesis, Colphne) — use them, then replace them as your element team comes together.
