Verdict

SituationalBuild it for switch teams, where every re-entry is a cheap guaranteed crit.

S
Why this tier

Switch teams are where Gambir earns S: Shuffle and Primed make every re-entry a cheap guaranteed crit, and Card Dealer doubles damage on full-HP targets. It brings no healing or control, so the rest of the team must cover that.

How to use Gambir

Gambir rewards switching in and out. Shuffle cuts the first skill after each entry by up to 4 Energy once it has entered enough times, and Primed always crits as that first skill, so every re-entry is a cheap guaranteed crit. Card Dealer adds up to +100% damage against a full-HP target, which makes it an opener.

Without healing or hard control it needs a team built around switching. Storm Strike resets your switch cooldown, which is why the game's Storm line-up runs it.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
