- Why this tier
Ottersteel sits in C as the steadiest otter, with 97 DEF and a signature that stacks more DEF. At 87 ATK it holds a slot for an otter team rather than pressuring one.

How to use Ottersteel
Ottersteel stacks DEF: 97 base, and Armor Strike adds a DEF stage every 75-power cast. That makes it the steadiest otter to lead with while Otter-charged adds 5% damage per otter standing. 87 ATK is weak. Its rainbow copy counts toward the Steel rainbows the Otterknight unlock asks for, which makes a spare worth keeping.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
