Why this tier

Screamhog sits in C: Shout lowers every attacker's ATK and reflects damage when ahead on stages, but 88 HP and four double weaknesses end it early. Rochelon holds the Ground slot longer.

Trait · passiveShout

After being hit by a skill, lowers the attacker's ATK by 1 stage. If this Lumi's ATK and DEF stages together beat the attacker's, every stage of the difference deals it 5% of that skill's damage.

Its automatic attack: a Ground hit every 1.2s for 12 power. That is slower than most, so anything that triggers per hit rather than per point of damage fires less often here.

How to use Screamhog

Screamhog punishes attackers. Shout drops the ATK of anything that hits it with a skill, and every stage it leads the attacker by reflects 5% of the damage back. Earth Barrier, its line-up pick, adds 2 DEF stages to widen that lead.

88 HP is modest, and Water, Grass, Ice and Brawler all hit it for double. Rochelon is the sturdier Ground pick.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
