Why this tier

Flamblades rises to S because ladder teams now plan around it, leading Glasnake with Shield or holding Dragon Roar to survive its opening. Burn feeds Swift and Swift makes Raid a guaranteed crit, though four double weaknesses on 88 DEF make it easy to punish.

Trait · passiveHasty Flames

Whenever this Lumi applies Burn to an enemy, it gains 1 Swift.

Signature skillFireblade Assault

Hits the current enemy and applies 1 Burn; this Lumi gains 1 Swift for every 2 Burn stacks on the target.

FireCost 5Power 80

Basic attackBlade Flurry

Its automatic attack: a Fire hit every 0.9s for 9 power. That is among the quickest on the roster, and since every basic attack in the game trades power for interval at the same rate, the short gap buys extra hits rather than extra damage — which is what per-hit effects key off.

How to use Flamblades

Flamblades turns Burn into speed. Hasty Flames grants a Swift whenever it burns an enemy, and Fireblade Assault adds another for every 2 Burn on the target, so Scorch then the signature stacks Swift fast. Raid always crits while it is faster than the target, which is the payoff, and Relay can hand the Swift on.

88 DEF and four double weaknesses make it easy to punish. Charigon hits as hard with less setup; Flamblades wins where Swift gets passed along.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
