Tanks rarely threaten the enemy carry, and this one hits whoever has dealt the most damage for 7000% every 15s. The catch is cost: max Evolution plus the Oath, a price only an Earth account should pay.
Is Leafergarde worth it?
Leafergarde is a revenge tank. Radiant Retribution hits the enemy who has dealt the most damage this battle for 7000% every 15 seconds, which usually means the enemy carry, and Divine Charge at Evolution VIII raises that by another 50% while Leafergarde is alive. The same step cuts the shared damage Shadow Surge pulls onto it by half, so the skill that made Ghillant fragile in long fights stops being the thing that kills it. Together they answer the two problems a defensive Earth line has: no damage of its own, and a protection skill that bills it for the protection. It is the best reason to keep Ghillant built past Season 1, and it pays off most against a team with one obvious carry.
The catch is the run-up, which only an account already committed to Earth will reach. Water accounts should send that Essence to Shadowkaeru instead.
