Why this tier

Hoverhound is B because Hellfire Spread keeps Poison and Burn on the enemy through switches for Flashing UFO to cash in, yet 85 HP and five double weaknesses cut it short. Netherfang hits harder off the same statuses.

How to use Hoverhound

Hoverhound makes Poison and Burn stick. Hellfire Spread carries them from the current enemy to whatever switches in when it dies or leaves, and Flashing UFO adds 15% damage per Burn and per Poison on the target. Poison Swamp and Scorch set it up. 85 HP and five double weaknesses make it fragile. Netherfang does the same with more ATK.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
