After each Roar, Sentinel's damage cut grows by half for 10s, landing while enemy damage is already sapped. Mammolith still outlasts it at the Earth front, so in our Pure Earth team Anubeast is the second tank, not the first.
Is Anubeast worth it?
Anubeast sharpens a buff that is rare in this game because it ignores element. Strong as Stone raises Sentinel by 50% for 10 seconds after each Protective Roar, and Sentinel cuts the damage every front-row ally takes by 12.5% whatever element they are. So a mixed early squad, the kind most accounts actually run in their first weeks, gets a real defensive upgrade from one Evolution III. Roar itself hits every enemy for 335% and cuts their damage by 30% for 5 seconds, so the two effects overlap in the same window. Statchew is still best on Earth. In a Water squad it collects neither Water aura and Mammolith outclasses it at the front once you have one. Evolution IV hands the squad 7% Defense and HP, and Pharohound cannot be started until it is done.
