Marcus

SNetworkVanguard

One day, two gangs picked a fight in Marcus's bar, which he had run for 20 years on the outskirts of Midground. Just as the place was about to be wrecked, Andrew happened to stop by and said, "The food here is good, so you shouldn't do this," then unintentionally subdued both groups and threw them out. From that day on, Marcus gave the bar over as the official hangout of the Bull of Creta, while he himself became the Boss and the gang's unofficial diplomat.

Why this tier

PvE CThe only Network Vanguard, but the 12% skill shield is less than half of Lin Qiang's 25%. Iron adds a team shield at the same S grade.

GFC CTaunt and a when-hit shield on S-grade HP don't last into the late rounds. Ari and Drax hold the front far longer.

Overview

Marcus is the only Network Vanguard, and that is most of the case for Marcus on paper. Kingpin's Execution hits every enemy for 120% every 3 turns, taunts for 2 turns from skill Lv. 10 and shields Marcus for 12% from Lv. 20. Aggro 400 draws hits onto the passive: a 10% shield half the time and, from Lv. 10, a 30% Stun on the attacker. The kit is decent, but other tanks do each part better.

The 12% shield is less than half of Lin Qiang's 25%, and Iron adds a team shield at the same grade. The Taunt covers 2 turns in 3, which leaves the back row open one turn in three. That gap is risky, and it puts Marcus behind Drax.

No comp here uses Marcus. Network is covered from the back row by Muro and Tyra, so the front seat goes to Drax or Lin Qiang.

Skip unless a Network front line is needed for a stone list. Levels put in early come back in full through a Migration Core.

Exclusive gear

Marcus has four gear pieces of their own, one per slot. Each is named anew at every grade; the Legendary piece is shown.

Skill unlock ladder

Marcus's skills gain extra effects at fixed skill levels. The active skill can't go past half the character's level, and the passive opens at character Lv. 20. Spending Infinity in battle raises the skill level for that fight, so a gated effect can switch on early.

Awakening and dupes cost

License 5 caps Marcus at Lv. 200. Each awakening star lifts that cap by 5 and adds a slice of base stats, up to Lv. 225 at 5★. Stars are paid in Marcus's own shards, and as an S-grade character every duplicate pull turns into 30 of them. Awakening is kept if you reset the character with a Migration Core.
