Each time its skills deal damage, it randomly gains or loses 1 Energy.

At a glance
- Why this tier
Bowlguin climbs to B because Spinning Iceblade now throws at least 2 blades, so its worst roll is 50 power, not 25. Wheel of Fate still gambles its Energy, which keeps Rimedeer the safer Ice lead.

Bowlguin's skills
Fixed kit always on Bowlguin, can't be swapped
Throws a random 2–5 ice blades at the current enemy.
Its automatic attack: a Ice hit every 1.1s for 11 power. That is slower than most, so anything that triggers per hit rather than per point of damage fires less often here.
Swappable skills choose which one to equip
Hits the current enemy twice; each hit has a 20% chance to apply 1 Frostbite.
Hits the current enemy with +15 power per Wet stack on this Lumi. If it has no Wet, it gains 2 Wet instead.
Hits the current enemy once, plus once more for each different status effect it carries (up to 5 hits).
Hits the current enemy and applies 1 Frostbite — 3 during Snow.
Pelts every enemy on the field with hail for 3 hits in total.
Sets the weather to Snow, hits every enemy on the field and applies 1 Frostbite to each.
Skills marked "Used in official line-ups" are the ones the game's own in-client line-ups equip on Bowlguin. See those line-ups.
How to use Bowlguin
Two dice rolls decide every Bowlguin turn. Wheel of Fate randomly gains or loses an Energy every time its skills deal damage, and Spinning Iceblade throws 2 to 5 blades at 25 power each, so even a bad roll lands 50. Hail and Snowfall give it Ice coverage on 98 ATK. The Energy gamble is still there, and Rimedeer is the steadier Ice pick. Its place is the game's Ice line-up, where Wave's Water hit covers the Fire Lumi that threaten Rimedeer and Crysion.

- Frost Claw LockIn-game line-up · Frostbite Energy tax

Three Ice Lumi turn Frostbite into an Energy tax. With all three in the squad, Rimedeer's Frostspike costs 3 instead of 6 and sets Snow, which raises Ice Shard from 1 Frostbite a cast to 3. At 5 stacks, Crysion's Frost Claw makes the enemy's skills cost 3 more Energy while Crysion stays in, and each stack adds 15 power to every skill that hits it. Bowlguin's Wave is the Water answer to the Fire Lumi that threaten the other two.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
