At a glance

Best.
Why this tier

Marks now give DEF first, which makes it sturdier and slower than base Shadowbun. 86 DEF is thin for a Lumi built to re-enter.

How to use Shadowbun - Variant

The Variant's Shadow Cut gives DEF on entry instead of ATK when an enemy carries a Mark, and on a Light Mark an ATK stage, another DEF stage and a switch reset. That makes it sturdier but slower. 86 DEF is weak for a Lumi built to re-enter. Muskyx is the more reliable Dark pick.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
