On entering battle, applies 1 Paralysis to the current enemy.
Lumi Master/Lumis

At a glance
- Why this tier
Its signature always crits as the first skill after entry, so it suits switch teams where base Zaphound suits Paralysis ones. Just as fragile at 86 HP.
Zaphound - Variant's skills
Fixed kit always on Zaphound - Variant, can't be swapped
Rams the current enemy. Always crits if it is the first skill used since entering battle.
Its automatic attack: a Electric hit every 0.8s for 8 power. That is among the quickest on the roster, and since every basic attack in the game trades power for interval at the same rate, the short gap buys extra hits rather than extra damage — which is what per-hit effects key off.
Swappable skills choose which one to equip
Hits the current enemy, applies 1 Paralysis and switches out.
Hits the current enemy with an electric wave and applies 2 Paralysis.
Hits the current enemy; each Paralysis stack it carries gives this hit 10% Pierce.
Hits the current enemy with a thunder orb. Costs 3 less Energy during Rain.
Strikes the current enemy with lightning; every Paralysis stack it carries refunds 1 Energy.
Sets the field to Electric Field, hits every enemy on the field and applies 1 Paralysis to each.
Skills marked "Used in official line-ups" are the ones the game's own in-client line-ups equip on Zaphound - Variant. See those line-ups.
How to use Zaphound - Variant
The Variant swaps Paralysis scaling for timing. Lightning Raid - Variant always crits if it is the first skill since entering, so this form wants to switch in, crit and leave, where base Zaphound wants stacks on the target first. Thunder Flash fits that loop: it paralyses and switches out in one cast.
Stats are identical, 110 ATK over 86 HP, so it is just as fragile. Choose the Variant for switch teams and the base for Paralysis teams.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
