Zaphound's skills
Fixed kit always on Zaphound, can't be swapped
Rams the current enemy; +50% crit rate for every Paralysis stack the target carries.
Its automatic attack: a Electric hit every 0.8s for 8 power. That is among the quickest on the roster, and since every basic attack in the game trades power for interval at the same rate, the short gap buys extra hits rather than extra damage — which is what per-hit effects key off.
Swappable skills choose which one to equip
Hits the current enemy, applies 1 Paralysis and switches out.
Sets the field to Electric Field, hits every enemy on the field and applies 1 Paralysis to each.
Hits the current enemy with an electric wave and applies 2 Paralysis.
Hits the current enemy; each Paralysis stack it carries gives this hit 10% Pierce.
Hits the current enemy with a thunder orb. Costs 3 less Energy during Rain.
Strikes the current enemy with lightning; every Paralysis stack it carries refunds 1 Energy.
Skills marked "Used in official line-ups" are the ones the game's own in-client line-ups equip on Zaphound. See those line-ups.
How to use Zaphound
Zaphound punishes Paralysis, and it is worth building around. Thunder Strike lands one on entry, Lightning Raid gains 50% crit rate per Paralysis stack, and Arc Impact adds 10% Pierce per stack, so two stacks make its signature a certain crit. 110 ATK finishes the job.
Its DEF and HP are both below the roster's middle, so it is fragile and needs to strike first. Ground hits it for double. Evolve Zappup at Lv. 35 to reach it.
Teams with Zaphound
- Roar BreakerPvP · Arena ladder

A team for beating roar-and-trap squads. They win by dragging your Lumi across Poison Swamp and Earth Spike, so this one ends the fight before the traps add up. Zaphound paralyses the current enemy every time it enters and Lightning Raid gains 50% crit rate per stack, on 110 ATK. Bluesaur Goma brings your own 3-Energy roar, which pulls in the enemy's lowest-HP Lumi with a DEF stage already gone. Rainbowdeer leads, cuts ATK and cures Poison across the squad.
- Paralysis AmbushPvP · Arena ladder

Zaphound paralyses whatever it meets, and Astrasting passes that Paralysis around the enemy bench. Thunder Strike puts 1 Paralysis on the current enemy each time Zaphound enters, and Lightning Raid gains 50% crit rate for every stack on its target. Astrasting's Flash Stinger hits for 4 Energy and slips out into Ambush; when it comes back in it hits again and spreads 1 stack of each debuff on its target to the enemy's other Lumi. Clionia keeps the rotation healthy and hands out Wet on her way out.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
