The mentor of Lain and Hyde, and the tactical commander of Ash Breaker. Relaxed and sly, but his hands sometimes tremble, as if he knows something about Lain's Jagear and past.

Verdict

InvestBuild Drax early. Five of our teams put Drax in front, and the team damage cut is the best answer to the arena's late rounds.

PvESGFCS
Why this tier

PvE SFive of this site's comps put Drax in front: Taunt 3 turns in 4 from skill Lv. 10 and a 40% damage cut for every ally at Lv. 30. The catch is the wait, since the cut and the revive both need three Skill Cores.

GFC SThe 40% team damage cut answers the arena's damage climb from round 8, and no other tank covers the whole team that well. Speed 104 means the other side usually strikes first.

Overview

Drax sits in more of this site's teams than anyone. Flash Cannon hits every enemy for 135% every 4 turns and taunts for 3 turns from skill Lv. 10, so the Taunt is up 3 turns in 4. Lv. 20 adds 40% damage reflect, Lv. 30 cuts damage to every ally by 40% for 3 turns, and Lv. 40 makes Drax invincible. At battle start Drax also lowers one enemy's DEF by 15% and, from Lv. 30, gains a revive. That is a reliable Taunt and the strongest team protection in the game.

The kit has two gaps, though. One turn in four has no Taunt or damage cut, and at Speed 104 the other side usually moves first. The damage cut and the revive both need skill Lv. 30, which is character Lv. 60 and three Skill Cores. Plan for the wait.

Drax holds the front of five comps: Signet Core, the Signet Plasma chapters, Firewall: Double Electrical, Code Dungeon: Power into Siren and GFC: Outlast. Rem or Ru heal behind the Taunt in most of them, and Power has the edge on Siren.

Build Drax early and take skill Lv. 30 first. An XA Selector can pick Drax if the Standard banner doesn't deliver.

Skill unlock ladder

Drax's skills gain extra effects at fixed skill levels. The active skill can't go past half the character's level, and the passive opens at character Lv. 20. Spending Infinity in battle raises the skill level for that fight, so a gated effect can switch on early.

Awakening and dupes cost

License 5 caps Drax at Lv. 200. Each awakening star lifts that cap by 5 and adds a slice of base stats, up to Lv. 225 at 5★. Stars are paid in Drax's own shards, and as an XA-grade character every duplicate pull turns into 50 of them. Awakening is kept if you reset the character with a Migration Core.
